This catapillar met and unfortunate death after the photo shoot....A plastic pail full of sidewalk chalk fell out of toddler baring hands and squashed it. (may s/he rest in peace)

your iris pics are nice .... looks like they are all coming into bloom...

I haven't decided if I like shooting them like you did in the 3rd shot ... or so you can see the middle of the flower ...

like i did in this shot here ...

    Thank you AmberC..

I was going to shoot the Iris from the top but they were not fully open yet, and I thought also where its just one color it would just end up looking like a blob of lavender.
Ill try that when they open fully.

I wasn't meaning shooting from the top ... I meant turning so that your shooting the drooping petal straight on ... instead of the petal that is still standing straight up ...
I have yet to decide which is better ...

I am no flower guru ... but from what I understand an Iris is at full bloom when 3 petals are standing up and 3 petals are down ???

I agree that shooting from the top will just be a blob of color ... I think they need to be shot from the side just which is a better view ?? your shot from the side shooting straight on the petal standing up and seeing 2 petals drooping ? or my shot shooting the drooping petal straight on and seeing the inside of the flower and 2 petals standing up ???

Wyatt Earp.....I would only have to guess to leave that up to the the viewer as to which way they would prefer to see the flower....I like it all ways lol
