Another Broadbill Hummer

Lot's of species of hummers in town, right now. I'll try and get a cross section. Until then, here's a Broadbill. I got a couple fairly good ones of him, this morning.

Here's a quick post…they're still repairing the power from the storm. When all the trucks fire up, it curtails a lot of the photo opportunities for the birds. (I'll be switching to 'macro mode', soon )

Broadbill Hummingbird Cyanthus latirostris

His feathers are slicked down and darkened, due to the fact that it had just finished raining, the last of a few monsoon storms.

great shot cj and i love those hummers. we don't get broad bills. annas, allens, and blackchin. rufus during migration and possibly a broadtail but we are still checking the pics as they are hard to identify and there are hybrids too!
