    American Badger

    I saw this guy while hiking for work this week. we figured he was staring us down (2 of us) to see if he could take us. then he ran in his hole and i went over (probably to close) right as he popped back up.

    Great shots of a very elusive animal! I see their dens all the time, but don't see a live animal very often. I did photograph a couple of cubs back in 2007, but haven't seen a live one since.
