    Agapanthus (Lily of the Nile)

A shot from mom's garden. I used my brandnew EF 50mm 1.8 II lens to shoot this. Had that damn thing less than 12 hours and already it's improving my photography. I sersously need somemore primes!

Gotta love primes. Compared to zooms, primes are sharper, lighter, faster, cheaper, and forces us to work just a little harder to get the image. That little bit makes a huge difference IMO

    I agree!

Next on the list is the EF 200mm 2.8L II!

    Thanks!

Great choice! I tested that one before - reasonably priced, small, light, and balances great on a camera. It shoots great macros with extension tubes. The only drawback is that it doesn't have IS. But at "only" 200mm, it's not a deal buster IMO.
