10 ft Away, Great Blue Heron

Went out to look for Red-Tailed Hawks and Cooper's Hawks and came upon a Great Blue Heron! My father had the Canon 300mm f/2.8L IS and 1.4 extender on his 1D-Mk.II-N and I had my 7D with 70-200mm f/2.8L on. The first picture was shot at about 4 ft away! And the other 3 pictures were about 10-15 feet away with my Canon 7D and Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L. It was a very successful day!!!!! Thanks for viewing!

Looks like you and your Dad did had a good day.
I had no idea Herons wintered in IL.
I never get to see them in CO during the winter.
