I was a resident alien for a few years but when I failed to grow green horns the Home Office let me have a British passport.'Established author' means I get enough writing work so I don't have to do anything else, although I love bunking off on school visits when I get the bookings - which is quite often. I am mostly known for retelling myths and legends although I am now working [or trying to find the time for] my first proper novel. I write in English but my work has been translated into twenty or so languages. For some reason I do well in Spain, Italy, Brazil and Korea - although I have a feeling everyone does well in Korea at the moment. The UK and the US are still my main markets, though.
