    Can You See My Favicon?

So I thought I'd create a favicon for my site.
I sized the file right, 16x16, and saved it as favicon.ico
And pasted the right coding in, {link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" } , just above where the head tag ends. I know the {} should be <>, but they didn't seem to work here.
But it doesen't seem to work.
I put it in the first two pages of my site.
    Can you see it?

Yup, I can see it on my laptop running Win XP, using Firefox and the newest version of Intenet Explorer, but I can't see it on my desk top running Win98 and an older version of IE.
