Building a site - need some help.

Recently I recieved space for a website that I want to make to promote my photography(bio page, gallery, contact, etc etc). I wan't it to be simple, yet professional.

I have Plesk 8.0.0, mysql, it's php enabled, I have a good amount of space and bandwidth to use. However, my experience is limited.

I was messing around with it a little bit last night, I had a friend suggest that I use the application "Gallery" which is included in the application vault for Plesk. However, once I had that installed it said I had to disable safe mode for PhP so I'm waiting on my host to do that.

I've used Plesk 7 Reloaded before, but it was awhile ago and I had someone help me a lot of the way through it, and it was for a postnuke site, which is something that I don't think I want this time around.

Basically what I'm asking is what would be the best, easiest, and least amount of time consuming way to do it, of course with it still looking good/professoinal. Once again, my experience is limited, I'm willing to do some research/reading, not too much though, I'm a busy man. ;)

    Thanks.

Re: Building a site - need some help.

Here are my two favorite galleries to work with:

http://gallery.menalto.com/ (I have this installed on 2 sites I admin including my own)

    and

http://coppermine-gallery.net/index.php (I have this installed on one site and was considering moving mine over to this)
