    Re: Worldwide Photo Walk

Sorry Lori, just now saw this. I won't be able to make it - I've got a wedding to go to at that same time. Hopefully it won't rain on yall's parade... BTW, I don't know that he'd remember, but the organizer guy (Jeff Rease) was my 9th grade (or so) Sunday school teacher at Shades Mountain! Crazy.

    Re: Worldwide Photo Walk

How did I miss this thread? I have been following Scott Kelby's blog for a while now. He is basically organizing this to promote his new Lightroom 2 book. I really wish there was a city closer to me as I would love to do this. I think I'm about 3 hours away from the closest photowalk.

Yup. The closest to me would most likely be Milwaukee or Chicago. Both about 3 hours away. Cedar Rapids might be closer, but it's in IOWA! Who the hell wants to go there.

Actually, there is one just 90 miles from me. However, I looked at the agenda and it doesn't look exciting enough to me to get up before 7:00 on a Saturday morning.

Rain can make interesting photographs - think of the reflection of lights on the street at night for one idea. It can add more depth to a cityscape. Just keep the camera dry.

Good luck and show us what you come up with!

Yeah... I think "wet" will be the operative word. It's supposed to rain through Wednesday, so yall may better just get it over with. I wouldn't be out there with my camera in this much rain though.
If some of you are wondering just how much rain we're talking about, have a look:
