Windows XP and Color management???

Where do you set XP color management?

For me I have 3 choices:
Adobe RGB
sRGB
Spyders 3 profile ( You have to run a Spyders3 monitor cal to get this choice )

I know I can't PP for perfect color on every monitor I am just looking for the majority which I believe is sRGB not considering their brightness and contrast settings.

It just becomes a choice in the win XP color management profiles, it was not automatic on my machine.

When I run my Spyder calibration software, it says at the end that the profile has been installed. If yours doesn't, something is probably wrong. Using XP. - TF

Does your control panel not give you choices? Like,

Adobe RGB

When It says " the profile has been installed " I take that as you have 1 more choice in the control panel. I still think you have to select the profile before it changes your display.
But, maybe not. In my case I have to choose.

After many experiments with all the control panel setting I decided to shoot in Adobe RGB convert right away to sRGB for editing then save as jpeg / sRGB. Also, I set my monitor to display in sRGB. Now I see the same color from first view of the photo to final product.

Again this is not for printing but for web and computer viewing which is 99% of my photo use. When I put a group of photos together for printing I will do something else, I'm just not sure what yet. One step at a time...

My only choice is Spyder2express which is the 'default monitor profile' as set by the Spyder software. I have never specified it in Windows.

Don't confuse the Color Space (often mistakenly called Profile), which is the gamut of colors represented by the digital file and the actual Color Profile, which is the curve that maps (for the monitor) the card/monitor output to the actual color.

The camera is recording in a Color Space and the monitor is showing the correct colors with a Color Profile.
