Question Where'd My Microsoft Picture and FAX Viewer Go??

For what it's worth the Micorsoft Picture and FAX Viewer is a quick and easy way to view picture files.

So recently it seems to have disapeared from my computer!
I can go to a picture file, right click on a given file and select Micorsoft Picture and FAX Viewer , but nothing happens.
Also, when looking at any given folder, when I click on a particular file, I no longer get a thumbnail of the picture in the "Details" box on the right, just the information about it, file size, type, name, etc...

As far as I know, I have no virus?

So where did it go? How can I get it back?
I have tried to download it from Microsoft, but it didn't work?!

Re: Where'd My Microsoft Picture and FAX Viewer Go??

Open up Windows Explorer. Tools | Options | File Types.
Scroll down to JPE, JPG or JPEG file type and click on each of them.
What does it say in the bottom half of the window ?

is the new(ish) raw image vewer

Microsoft say: "Note: We've taken care to ensure that this tool operates as it should, but it is not part of Windows and is not supported by Microsoft. For this reason, Microsoft Technical Support is unable to answer questions about the Microsoft RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer."

    Thanks Paul.
