What kind of photos do you like taking?

I was thinking on what type of photos I liked shooting. I think I like to take shoots of people, but not on studio or perfect poses, maybe more natural and doing something else than looking at the camera and waiting for the shoot. Also, bike pics, since my other hobby is mountain biking.

So, what does everybody likes shooting?

Flowers, Landscapes, Weather type photos. Graveyards too. They're very peaceful. Sunsets and sunrises. Clouds. All these things are just coming off the top of my head now. I'm on my way to work, so I'll add to the list later!

Re: What kind of photos do you like taking?

I'm a nature/wildlife shooter myself. For me, there is nothing better than sitting along in the woods, waiting for something to come along. I want to get more into macro shooting of things I find in nature as well.

I have done a couple of weddings, and although I enjoyed the getting paid part, it just isn't my thing. I would much rather be out looking for birds, or deer.

I have 2 nephews who are into sports, so I'm sure I will be getting more and more practice as a sports shooter over the next few years.

I like to take landscapes, cityscapes, and make panoramas, I also like to do micro photography, and I still looking for a better micro lens.

I've classified my photos into different themes over the years :

Family = Anything concerning my family
People = Pictures I do for me of people I know, excluding Family
Semi-pro = Anything I do for other people like weddings, building interiors, gatherings
Travels = Pictures of places (excluding events), holiday snaps
Events = Mostly pictures of people at events that are at a fixed point in time
Parties = Parties of all sorts, excluding Semi-pro
Sport = Anything concerning sport (motor racing, etc)
Work = pictures I do for my work (a lot of computer suite interiors)
School = Stuff I do in photography classes
Nature = Wildlife (not a lot of this)
Home = Personal stuff for nobody else's eyes
Diary = Anthing that doesn't fit anywhere else, classified by year+quarter

    Re: My classification

My basic foundation in photography is nature/wildlife/outdoors. It is how I started, and continues to be my passion. However, over the years my interests have broadend to include candid portraiture, landscapes, and more recently still life.

I like to combine my diferent photographic loves. Such as, still life, nature, and macro in this image, which was shot outside in the field using a macro lens and flash.

Now i could be wrong, but I do believe that you mean Macro, not Micro. As micro infers very tiny subjects shot from far away, and macro refering to close up fine detail.

I haven't found my niche yet. In the past couple of years, I've been shooting any project I can possibly do.

I aspire to be good at taking photos of human subjects in portraits to street photography.

So right now, I like taking pictures of anything I can.

My favorite are portraits, but I like to shoot sports and landscapes as well. Portraits are so fun to try and capture the personality of the subject.

First off - John (Almo), that's a great shot!!

I've been thinking about this thread, and it's really a good topic. I guess photographically I live for those situations that can result in great images. I don't want that to sound like a cliche, but some situations you have great light, great weather or whatever - find those situations and make the most of them. I don't really care what I have to work with in those conditions, I just want to do something in them. They don't happen often enough!

Besides that, I'm not into posed people shots (where the money is...). Nature, travel, stuff like that I guess.

    I like shooting:
    up close nature pics,
    landscapes,
    portraits (posed and not posed),
    weather and
    still life.
(Maybe there are more, but that's all I can think of right now.)

Re: What kind of photos do you like taking?

first & foremost I guess would be architecture & buildings, especially (but not limited to, abandoned
sites) ghost towns, cemeteries, places where what once was will never be again,
really inspires me. Honestly I have wanted to say this on this site for a long time,
there is a very small town about 45 minutes from where I was raised, when I was in
school, there was a busload of kids about the same age as I was at that time on their way to a
basketball game & they were hit by a truck, most of them were killed, the school shut down
just a few years after that ,and the little town basically just died. I'm not trying to be morbid or anything like that. But you can
still go there to this day the school is still standing, but its just a sad little place, I cant
describe how it makes me feel,I have tried & tried to capture what I feel on film but I havent been able to yet(most of the time its hard to take pics
anyway because I have to keep cleaning the tears out of the viewfinder) but its such
a feeling of sadness & loss, sorry to babble on, but thats kind of what inspires me.............
    great subject!

Well, I have a great love of the outdoors, so Its obvious that I love shooting nature. My main goal is to take pictures of beautiful scenery, and share them with the world. I dont have to get paid or anything(Though I'd like to be.), Just being out there, taking pictures makes me so happy.

Canon Digital Rebel with Quantray 19-35 F3.5-4.5 basically Glued on. :P
