    Viewfinder Dust...

I got my D200 back from Nikon but it has a speck of dust in the upper left hand corner (diagonally left from the corner AF zone) in the viewfinder. Should I try blowing it? Deal with it? Or send it back to Nikon (and not have my D200 for another week). Is it really that big a deal?

I get dust in my VF all the time. I use my rocket blower and blow it out. If that doesn't work, I use a piece of lens tissue. It could be on the focusing screen as well. I use the rocket blower for this too. The only issue with it being on the focusing screen is that when you blow it off of there, it could end up on your sensor. I find it super annoying, so I would blow it off.

It is annoying, but if it is only on the focusing screen and not on an AF sensor it won't cause any problems. However, if it is distracting, by all means get rid of it as Mike suggests.

What I'm scared of is blowing it INTO the prism housing. Actually, the little speck is kinda useful as a framing device. Plop the corner of a person's head on the spec and I've got a perfectly framed portrait . I just have to buy a rocket-blower now because I usually use sensor-swabs for my cleaning.

I would think swabbing it off so that it does not wind up back again or on the sensor would be the best bet
