Unable to Take Picture - Tosh PDR 3330

I have a Tosh. PDR 3330 Digital & when I go to take picture, nothing happens. Called Toshiba, they could not help. Only when I put it in Movie Mode does it work - does not work on automatic or manual mode. Any suggestions on what to do - already changed batteries, put in new card, tried changing settings, all to no avail. HELP.

is there anyway to set it to "default" as in set back to as shipped? that may be the trick?

does the lens go in and out COMPLETELY when you turn on and off?

does the lens look crooked?

does the shutter button FEEL right... as in is it stuck?

did you leave batteries out for HOURS instead of seconds?
