    Tips for Photographing Children

    Hi, folks,

I'm looking to start a thread here which should best be entitiled

    TIPS FOR PHOTOGRAPHING CHILDREN

I am primarily looking for advice for shooting infants and toddlers in a non-studio setting, but c'mon - anything you have for any age you want. I'll start it off:

Try not to shoot from a vantage point higher than your subject's eyes.

Well Tom, I hate to disagree but in this case I have to. I have many successful pictures where I shot from above the subjects eye level. I have attached 2 examples. As my dear grandmother would say... To each his own.

Great shots! For every "rule" there is/are exception(s). In both cases here it's the eye contact with the camera. I would not have hesitated to trip the shutter in either case.
