Tiltable LCD that attaches to Digital SLR hotshoe?

Does anyone know about this? I shoot with Nikon D90's and someone told me of a small LCD screen that you can attach to your hotshoe that shows you exactly whats in your viewfinder so you can hold it down low or up high and still see what you are getting BEFORE you shoot it. Does anyone have any idea what I am talking about? Thanks!!

    Welcome to the Forum.

I don't know of anything that mounts on the hot shoe, but there is a product called the Zigview S2 that attaches to your view finder. Here is some more info on it.

Tried it once. personally I would suggest that you save your money. Expensive, and not that useful from my experience. You might be better served looking at a small 13" laptop and shooting tethered than trying to use the small 2.5" screen.

Just my 0.02 cents on the issue.

Thanks! The zigview is it! The reasson we cant use the laptop is that we do car pictures in a white cyclorama and dont need any more items in the reflections that we have to remove later

    Thanks again!

I'm going to suggest that you give it a try before you buy. It was pretty expensive at the time I tested it and frankly, other than framing, it was pretty much useless. It's taking a tv picture of the viewfinder. Not really a great tool for focusing etc.

With the laptop you could use up to a 16' USB cord to possibly get the laptop out of the shot. Good luck.

Fortunately, framing is the ONLY thing we need it for, very often we have to shoot holding the camera up high and we dont want to use a stool, or we are pressing the camera to the floor and dont want to break our backs trying to look through (and of course live view is utterly useless on the nikon) Thanks again!

You could also try using an angle viewfinder like this. Much less expensive.
