    sun rays

    i just got my sony a100 and i was just wondering how would i capture sun rays?

    Try shooting into/toward the sun.

    Don't shoot with the sun fully exposed into your lense. I think it could affect your sensors. Do you mean the sun coming down between clouds?

    I'm not sure exactly what it is your looking for, but I'm going to take a guess. If you're trying to shoot what I think you're trying to shoot, you are going to need something in the air to reflect the suns rays to make them appear in your photo. This could be mist or fog in the air, or even dust or smog.

    This is an example of what I'm talking about. To get images like this one takend in Antelope Canyon, photographers throw some dust or sand from the canyon floor into the air to get the beam of light to show up.

    or like this sun rise. i saw them with my eyes pointed my camera that direction snapped a few pics, decided to add some - exposure to bring the rays out more and snapped a few more. then picked the best one.

    yeah thats what i was trying to go for... is it the same thing for light through a window
