    Suggestions on a new bag...

    New here...
Upgrades to a D80 for christmas, and having just purchased the kit, and just buying a 50mm f/1.8 I need to find a bag that will let me carry everything I need.

    D80 body
    Nikkor 18-55 Kit lens
    Nikkor 70-300 Kit Lens
    Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
    wide angle filter
    telephoto filter
    UV lens filters
    Extra Battery
and possibly an sb-600 flash that I've been thinking about after I get a bag.

I want to get a Lowe Pro slingshot 200 AW.
    Does anyone have any advice?

I've bought 4 bags in the last couple of years. Each one has a different use, but when I want everything housed in one spot I like my Tenba Shootout Backpack.

I'm not a big gal so my only complaint would be is they are not ubber light. I still am able to hike all day in the mountains with it though.

Youtube has a great video on all of it's features. I researched my rear off and this video really helped me make my final choice.

Check out some of Tenba's other vids on youtube. They are really helpful in helping you find what kind of bag fits your needs.

Can't advise on the slingshot, but I'm currently using a LowePro Nova 3 which is a more traditional shoulder bag configuration, a little smaller than the Slingshot and it holds everything you listed easily.

    In it I carry:
    S-2 body
    50mm 1.4
    28-80 3.5 w/ hood
    70-300 4 w/ hood reversed when stowed
Tiffen filter pack w/ 4 filters
    3 CF cards
    extra CR-123(2) and AA(8)
    Lens cleaning kit
    Air Bulb
User manual (for recalling those odd error codes that pop up from time to time)
& a Modo 785 tripod hanging off the back

There's room left for an SB 600 or that Nikkor 11-16 fisheye I've been contemplating

    I use a Lowepro slingshot 200, Lowepro Offtrail 1 and 2.
With my D80, 18-135AF, 70-300VR, 500mm reflex, spare battery, and a few filters
it is quite heavy on the shoulder.
If you plan to carry everything on your back I would recommend a two shoulder strap bag.
I really like the Off Trails, When I need to go light and carry just 1 lens I use the OT1, d80 and 18-135. When I can go a little heavier I use the OT2 for the 70-300VR on the camera and carry the 18-135 in a side pouch.
I've never taken the slingshot in the field. I prefer a camelbak and hook the OT to the front straps.

Totally different way to do it, but I really like my Domke F2. Been using it for years and have sold a few of the others that were collecting dust (mainly "brand L"). Bags are probably the hardest piece of equipment to figure out...
