Slide Scanner Image Size?

I was wondering if I need to go out and buy some dual layer DVD's or single layer DVD's if I plan on Scanning 50 or so at the highest quality.

Nevermind. I rented a scanner. using the Nikon Coolscan 500ED I scanned in images at 4000 dpi at normal size and resolution and my file size was 131 MB... Now I have to find out where to store the 499 Slides I scanned!!!
