    Slave Flash stands

I am wondering what is out there for mounting a remote flash on to. I have seen a few different flashes which come with their own but I am wondering if there are any that have a basic hot shoe style mount.

I went through my local camera shop and with the exception of umbrella mounts they didn't have what I was looking for. I have also been through Adorama and B&H's websites but my searches didn't turn up anything. Possibly because my search entries weren't correct but ya never know.

I was thinking that using a mini tripod like they sell for P&S cameras would be a good stand and then fabricating a mount to fit the tripod screw. But if there are any available commercially I would like to see some examples and maybe get a few more ideas.

Eight bucks will get you one of these, and it has a 1/4-20 thread on the bottom of it. Made by Nikon but of course it is a standard mount and has no electrical contacts.

Yep, every Canon flash I bought came with something like that, but with Canon on it instead of Nikon

    Re: Slave Flash stands

The bottom of my remote connector has a screw-hole in it that fits on a tripod, so I simply use another tripod and the extra flash (430EX) fits on top. This is connected by a long wire to the hot shoe on my camera and the other flash (580EX) fits into this extra hot shoe. There is also a stand that comes with the flash as well so it could be placed on a table, for example. HTH.

    Cheers,
