it might be dust it might be noise, it might be something else. Take 2 pictures of something completely white (take them of the same thing, no zoom just the exact same picture) like a wall and post it on here.

Also when you shoot the white wall shoot at the lowest ISO for the D50, which is 200.

Those are hot or stuck pixels... no theres no fix... but actually its surprising to see on what appears to be a normal exposure time... normally you only see them on long exposures....

it might be hot pixals, but I've had this same thing with my D50 and it was dust.

Typically colored dots are hot/stuck pixels as Orgnoi says, but normally they only occur on long duration photos (several seconds in length or more). If your in-camera noise reduction is off, turn it on. That should fix it.

But since Chris actually has a D50 and had the same problem, I guess it could be dust as well, even though that's a very atypical result (in other cameras, anyway) if dust is the problem.

Take it to your local camera shop and see what they see. I had a sensor go out in my D50 (it used to be my workhorse) and it only cost me 150 bucks for it to be sent into nikon and replaced. Thats cheaper than a new camera.
