Recharable AA's ?

So im finding out that regular AA's are not the way to go when your taking a bunch of pictures. I was at my cousins graduation and my camera went dead =/. Anyways I've been searching and I've found batterybarn.com and batterygenie.com so far. anybody know of any others or is this as good as i gets on price. thanks in advance. late.

If your camera only takes AA's then make sure to get Lithiums. If you want rechargeable though then you'll need NiMH's.

There's no better rechargeable batteries in AA than either Energizer's or Rayovac's which are found 'over the counter'. Just be sure to get the latest and greatest versions and at least 2400-2500 mAh rated cells or greater.

Charger's on the other hand are a different deal. If you need a portable charger (car/truck), or you need a quick charger or 'super' charger, shopping around may be needed.

Whatever brand, dropping them any large distance on a hard surface will shorten or end their life. Many personal experiences with several brands. A cheap or poor charger (not necessarily one that doesn't cost much money) may only partial charge the batteries and this can adversely affect they performance.

I do not know how many photos you plan to take regularly or the brand of camera. Two or four batteries may make some difference in the total you want to purchase. Buy enough to have sets of identical batteries and don't mix and match as different brands and models(mAh rating) will not work well together.

Canon's Axxx series of compact/P/S cameras, for example, that use two batteries will shoot all day on a set and a backup. Even with flash. There have been some bad runs of cameras in the past that used the batteries more quickly, but these have been repaired/replaced etc.

If you are using a DSLR that lets you use AA in a vertical grip/battery expander they usually need 4 cells.

I use a lot of cells between Flash units and other AA powered stuff and have found both of these brands quite reliable and available! There's are re-charger units including Maha(sp?) that do a good job
and also discharge the battery before recharging to prolong life and give them more capacity.

If you look you can purchase rechargeable Lithium batteries with chargers that are compatible with the CR3 non-rechargeable Lithium battery, if your camera takes them. Otherwise with my old C-3030 I could get 500 photos on one charge of 4 AA 650MAH batteries.
