Problems with images on computer screen.

Can anyone give me any advise as to either when downloading images to the forum and viewing other images on my computer, the images seem blotchy and have little squares throughout the picture, this has only recently started happening.

    Any advice would be great.

Are you talking about your own photos or any photos you look at on the computer? Have you made any adjustments to your monitor recently? Do you have a new computer and new monitor?

Its happened viewing any photos, my computer is about 8 months old, i use the Huey to calibrate my monitor which has'nt caused any problems in the past, i have just viewed the latest images put on nature forum and they were ok, could it be an atmospheric problem? (only a guess).

Have you installed any new software? I have some sort of profile problem on my laptop that I haven't been able to solve. So I understand these mystery display issues. On my laptop it's like there's a profile that's either being used on top of another one or not being used somewhere. But I don't know how to track down and isolate the problem. The result is I don't trust my laptop for setting up photos. It's really a bummer when I'm on the road.

Check the size of the image, a small image like 120 by 320 will have little squares through out the image when viewing full screen. Even a VGA image will look that way if veiwed on a large 1600 by 1200 resolution monitor full screen. I would check the settings on your camera to make sure they have not been changed to low resolution. Also you may wish to change your viewing options from full screen to image resolution, ie a 1024 by 7xx views as 1024 by 7xx pixels on the monitor screen. Also check your monitor resolution to make sure it has not been changed.
