    Portfolio Help

Hello this is my first post on here. I am currently taking a photography class and for our final we have to put together a portfolio with the work we did through out the semester. One example from each assignment. He would not go into details as to how to set up or create a portfolio. The one detail he did give was that he is sick of seeing scrapbooks. What does the standard photographers portfolio look like. Is there a standard format everyone goes by? I would like to do a good job on this and could really use your help/advice on the matter.

He doesn't what to see a butch of 4 by 6 small prints in a book, he wants a number of 8 by 10 prints that are flawless, and glossy in a artist portfolio. It doesn't need to be an costly portfolio a cheap card board one will do but the prints have to your best.

Yes, the prints need to be the best that you can do (overall - composition, sharpness, etc). Unless there's a reason for ordering the prints a certain way it's best to start and finish the portfolio with your two best shots.
