Please help with new Sony

Dear ones, I just received Sony DSC H50 and Memory Stick PRO Duo 4GB/Go

Shot a few to get the feel and then insert stick into my Epson printer just like I've been doing with my old Sony.

Instead of allowing me to view pic on screen I'm getting message the stick is not formatted. :mad2:

I can view pictures on camera screen.

I tried my old 128MB Memory Stick Magic Gate in the new H50 and now it is not formated and msg indicates it cannot be formated. Put back on old Sony DSC S70 and get "memory stick error" cannot format in camera.

Does the new H50 format the sticks with a "new & improved" format?
Seems like "MAGIC GATE" indicates "NOW YOU SEE IT NOW YOU DON'T"

Older Sony cameras like the DSC-S70 can't use memory sticks larger than 128MB. If your printer is that old, it probably can't use bigger ones, either.

I'm not sure what the H50 might have done to your 128MB MS. Can you format it with the printer or a card reader?

Thanks for the reply. I don't have a card reader and printer won't let me format. I'll just go back to using 64MB in the old S70.

And see if the 128MB will work at Walgreens.

You should get a card reader. With the card reader either MS Windows or the MAC OS can do a hard format. And by using recovery tools you can undelete and even recover your images even after a memory card format!
