    Picture Error

I have recently bought an Olympus Stylus 740 camera and when I try to view the photo's on the camera is keeps saying "Photo Error" but I can view them all ok on my pc. Can you tell me what this error means, is there a problem with the camera or the memory card??

    Thanks, Marion

Did you format the memory card using the camera before you started shooting? That might be the first thing I would try. If you can view them on the computer, move all your photos to the computer and format the card using your cameras format option. Then try shooting some shots and seeing if that works.

Since you've already downloaded the images I'd reformat the card in the camera. This is a good thing to do everytime you download images. I have an Olympus that uses XD cards and I think they said somewhere in the instructions to format before use (always a good idea anyway) - maybe this is the problem.

That is probably where I went wrong. I didnt format the card before using it for the 1st time. I'm abit of a novice where digital cameras are concerned. That's what u get for not reading the instructions!! I didnt have any problems to start with. I will format it and see how I get on. Thanks for the advice.
