    Photographing Neon Colors

    Hello,

I am having trouble with photographing small rubber parts that are neon color, such as bright yellow, green, pink, and orange. I have tried every setting I can think of on our Canon Rebel xti, and I am hoping that someone with more experience would have suggestions.

    Re: Photographing Neon Colors

I think you'll get more vivid and accurate colors if you use a very dark background (black if you can). Yes, some colors just don't come out and I have no idea why. I shoot flowers sometimes and no matter what I do, no matter what color space I use, the colors do NOT match what I see.

    Re: Photographing Neon Colors

Neon colours usually rely on Ultraviolet light to make them bright.
If you shoot them indoors under artificial light, that's missing.
Try a UV blacklight to make them glow a little ... the glass in the lens and the internal filter n front of the sensor should block enough UV that it doesn't look odd. If not put a UV filter on the front of the lens.

Calibrated Gray Card to set the White-Balance ??

Just a thought. Set the white balance for the current lighting.
