    Opteka timer remote control

    Hi All,

Has anyone had any experience with the Opteka timer remote control:

    http://www.opteka.com/index.asp?Page...ROD&ProdID=127

I have been considering a shutter release cable for quite some time, and have stumbled across this. The only draw back I can see would be short cable (3 ft) compared to the simple shutter release I have been looking at that has a 15 foot cable.

    Thanks,
    Brandon

I don't have any experience with that particular remote, but I find that 3' is more than enough for almost everything I do. I did add a 30' extension onto the end of one of my cable releases. I could set my camera up next to a bird house, and trip the shutter from behind a bush and not to scare the birds. Other than that, I haven't had a need for anything other than the 3' cable.

I'd like to hear how it works if you get it.
The one thing my D80 doesn't have that I'd like most is an interval timer.

I've been dead set on a simple cable release for a long time now...that is until I discovered the Opteka interval timer. I am going to order it tonight, and will let you know what I think of it.

    Best,

I got the Canon interval timer release when I got my 40D and I love it. I hope the Opteka works out for you.
