    Unhappy no image preview help me plzz

    im really confused right now,,,my dg cam has a problem..
    would someone mind to help me....to those professionals out there

    My canon digital IXUS 70 wont display a preview, and when i took picture only a
    black screen would appear and when i preview it, it is also black..
    how may i know if the problem is on the settings only...
    plzzz help me guys..:mad2:

    If the view finder is optical, did you remove the lens cap? If the view finder is a LCD screen did you get a error message? The still images are not stored on the tape, but are stored on the memory card. Take out the memory card and read the card in a card reader. If the card is blank, use a file recovery program to recover your deleted or formatted over images.

    i can view the previous picture in the mcard but now when i take picture,only black will appear in preview and display....is it the lens?

    I've seen this problem before on a Sony Cybershot from a friend. The problem was unfortunately the CCD.
    Many cameras have/had this problem due to a bad batch of CCDs.

    But to be sure check the memory card as freygr said.

    Fortunately, Canon in it's site (somewhere - i can't remember where) says it will fix it free of charge regardless of the warranty.
