    Nikon D70

Suddenly not recognizing compact flash card. A message pops up CHR - camera not accessing memory card. We're tried several different cards with the same results.

In looking into the memory slot there seems to be a wire differently positioned from the
others. Could this be the problem? It was working fine.

    Any help would be appreciated.

yep, sounds like you have a bent pin. Some people try and fix this themselves, or you could have it repaired professionally, preferably by Nikon.

I thought so. He's leaving tomorrow on vacation and wanted to use it.

How in the world would he be able to fix it?

i've heard of some people using something like tweezers to go in and straighten it. Not something i would do.

It can be done, but most likely the pin will brake off, so it's best to send it to the repair shop. I've only have had 50% success rate with larger connectors so those tiny things you can bend other connectors trying to fix the problem.
