    night light

Hey guys, i just had a quick question about digital night photography. I was recently looking at http://www.thenocturnes.com/gallery.html. I would like to get into doing that kind of work. My question is can you produce the same results digitally. I mean without using photoshop, or does film has a distinct advantage?
    thanks

Haven't checked out that site recently but did look at Lost America. He's now using a DSLR with great results. Problem with a lot of digital cameras is that the noise would build up to unacceptable levels with longer shutter speeds. Some of the current DSLR's are a lot better at this. I wouldn't try doing this with anything other than a DSLR - compacts are way too noisy. Think I read that he's using a Canon 30D.

I'm talking about shots of a minute or two; anything longer than that will really require film.
