Just thought i would take a sec and introduce myself. i am as new to photography as anyone could be but have always had a intrest just not the bank account to get started. Couple of years ago i bought a little cannon a530 point and shoot but it left me wanting more so when i found a bit of cash the other week ran out and bought myself a nikon D40 after many hrs surfing the web to find out which camera would suit me best.
i have taken a few pics that i think turned out pretty good i will post them up in the section where you can give me some advice on what i am doing right and wrong.

Hello, archer and welcome. I've always been glad I found this spot.
Dig around in the different forums a bit and you'll find lots of info and be sure to check the Learn links at top right.
You will get more 'hellos' and 'welcomes' in the viewfinder thread so drop in there or maybe a nice moderator will move the post for you.
For help on photos, post one at a time or two or three related photos in the critique forum and you'll get some good help.
Looking forward to seeing what you are getting.
