    Re: new guy needs help?

Short answer - I've never found a camera that can do that.

Long answer, I haven't yet found out how to fool the camera.
If I have touched the files on the computer, it doesn't work.
If I copy everything off the card, and then copy it back without changing anything, it works.
But I can't assemble a group of images in the order I want and put them back on the camera if I have edited them, renamed hem, changed them in any way.

    I use my laptop.

Or in future put up a gallery on my web server. I'm testing it at the moment ...

That's running from a ReadyNAS NV+ network storage box.

Another alternative is to use a memory stick, and put a HTML gallery on there.
It's portable, needs no web access, and would work on Mac or PC.

If you don't edit them, and you duplicate the card exactly, it should work.
I think you need to copy the \MISC directory as well as the \DCIM directory

    But what's the point?
A camera with its tiny screen seems hardly the best way to present your work.

I have to Agree with with SmartWombat, putting them back on the camera for viewing is a waste of time and effort.

You have to duplicate the Cameras Data Base that is on the card with all fields with the correct entries. That sounds like WORK a four letter word!

Just don't delete them from the card in the future.
