    In need of some adivce

I have always loved taking pictures. I love being able to express the world through my eyes. I would love to someday go to school and take a photography course. I just worry that I think my work is better then what it is, I have posted a few pictures on here. I have been told by my stepdad that I do good work, and my boyfriend but i'm worried that there opinion is biased because they are family and don't want to hurt my feelings. Is there anything I could do, besides posting pictures here, to get the most honest opinion to know whether or not i know if im wasting my time trying to pursure this dream?
    Thank you!

After looking at your gallery, I think you have some 'decent shots'
My wife and friends tell me the same thing and I try to convince them that I'm just a bit above average amateur that gets lucky sometimes.
Other than here, I suppose you could enter some contests and see how well you do or join a local camera club.
I think the important thing is to enjoy what you do.
I wouldn't mind selling a few prints but would not want to be a pro with assignments and deadlines, etc.
If you get really good and have shots that grab people, you'll get business whether you want it or not.
    Keep Shooting!

Welcome to Photography Review! I also took a look at your gallery and think you have some very nice shots in there. I would suggest turning off that date stamp in your camera because it can really mess up a good picture, Jeff

Why not here??? Pick out your two best and post them in the Critique forum and ask what is good and what is bad. You will see where you stand and (if you listen) you will learn way faster than by taking classes. - TF
