ND chart, and how it affects shutter speed

I got this chart from the Martin Bailey Photography podcast yesterday, and I thought that others may find it usefull, but I'm not sure where to post it. Mods, please feel free to move this to where ever you feel it fits best.

Quite the comprehensive chart - thanks for posting! Since you don't mind I'm going to put it under Help, where ND filters are brought up occasionally.

The Help fourm works for me. This is where I was going to post it originally, but wasn't sure. Thanks Steve.

Re: ND chart, and how it affects shutter speed

    Michael,

I was looking at this and hit a mental block In row 5 it states

    2 X ND4 (4 stops) = ND2 (1 stop) + ND3 (1.5 stops) which I make out to be 2.5 stops not the 4 it claims.

    What am I missing?

That's a good question Roger. I wonder if it's a misprint, and that the ND3 in that row should actually be ND8 which would be 3 stops, to make the total of 4 stops.
