I don't know the D300, but I have owned the D200 and currently own the D700 and they both have a noise-reduction setting for long exposures in the Menu. It seems to work great, so enable it and see what you get.

This is time-lapse photography, so you're combining individual images to make a video i.e. we're in the world we know of still photography, not video.

Around 2minutes 50 you have a sequence with almost nothing lit, no subject, just some street lights. Of course there's noise. The camera is at maximum sensitivity trying to makes something of a dark subject.

If it really bothers you then the classic solution is to use an available-light lens like a 85mm f1.8 prime at full aperture. You might be able to use a lower ISO. But the real solution is - shoot something else.

yeah, my advice was for the photo mode, not video. I don't know if the video settings have a NR setting or not..

You have to turn on the noise reduction exposure, but if it could reduce your frame rate. But I watched the video and did not see any noise to speak of. Night photos with Digital cameras you are going to have some noise no matter what. A fast lens helps reduce the long exposures and the noise.
