minolta slr lens compatability for digital cameras

My Dad has an older Minolta 35mm camera. I was wondering if any of the new digital camera slr bodies will accept his Minolta lens. If so I'd like to get him in to the digital age. If there is a compatable slr body to minolta what is the best one?? Thanks for your help. Dave

Is it an auto focus lens or manual focus? If it's an auto focus lens then it should work with the new Sony A100 digital SLR. It will also work with the Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D and 7D. If it's a manual focus lens, however, I think it will only work with the Minolta X-Series 35mm SLRs.

Thanks Photo-John. He has several Minolta manual focus lenses. I guess with all the new technology the manual focus lens isn't compatable with any digital cameras. Too bad, as this may keep him in the 35mm world a bit longer.
