    Metallic Paper?

Has anyone used metallic paper before? how did you like it? I'm thinking of getting my final photography workshop project printed on it, but I'm not sure...

    Re: Metallic Paper?

I have printed a few images through Mpix with their metallic paper, and I was very happy with it. For me, the metallic paper is kind of like a fisheye lens... it works great for certain photos, but not something I would use all the time. If you have something with a lot of bright colors, metallic paper can really make them pop. I have used it on a rainbow photo, as well as a sunset photo, and I liked the way they came out.

I remember reading a post on the forum at mpix where I person said they they couldn't get bright yellow to print on the metallic paper. It kept coming out green.

    Re: Metallic Paper?

I had some prints done up on Kodak Professional Endura Metallic Paper from AdoramaPix and they came out awesome. They were a couple portrait shots for a coworker. I don't have much experience using it for different types of prints or colors so I can't comment on what Michael mentioned but, it is going to be my first choice for paper for future color prints unless I come across any problems. You should definitely check it out.

Me too. It looks as close to a transparency on a light table as I think you'll ever get on a printed page. I've had a few done with this and they looked great but I don't think any of them had any (or much) yellow. First I've heard - maybe I got lucky... Try a print or two with it to see if it works for you.

I talked to one of the guys at the lab i am getting it done at and showed him my image and he said it would look really good because of the style of the image. So I'm going for it, I'll let everyone know how I like it when I receive it. It's a monochromatic dull blue.

Mpix printed my avatar as an 8x10 on metallic - just about jumped off the page. Wish I could show you what it really looks like, but I'm sure you'll be happy with it. Again, it takes the right image to really make it work.
