    Re: Memory card

Try formating the card in the camera. If it doesn't format return the memory card as it's defective. Another thing are you sure, it's only a 2 meg card as that is only one JPG photo from a 6 mega pixel camera, was it a 2 GIG card?

    Re: Memory card

Another question/suggestion...what software are you using to download the images off the camera? Maybe the software doesn't like what you are trying to feed it...my 0.02 cents.

    Cheers,

    Check your card reader

There are two generations of XD card. Up to 512MB it was the first generation. From 1GB onwards it was the second generation. You need a compatible reader to work with the second generation cards, otherwise the card is just corrupted by the reader.

Sounds like your computer has a first-generation reader.

Did not know that, but I don't have any XD cards or devices. Since the camera may be an older model (Generation 1), would it always have problems with a generation 2 card? Or would a new card reader take care of it? I'm thinking that might do it since it sounds like the card works fine with the camera; the problem is with downloading. Also I would try just copying using the Windows utility rather than importing with software (Start > My Computer, etc).

Or ignore the card reader and link to the camera (in file transfer mode) and see if that works.

    Hi:
First, you do not mention what kind of digi camera you have and second what brand or memory card, but always format your memory cards with the camera, never the computer.

    Take care

    Re: Memory card

If you have the CD and a USB cable for your camera, For Windows just put the CD in your computer and then using the USB cable connect the camera to the computer. If Windows or Visa know the camera it will just load the drivers, if Windows doesn't have the driver built in it will load the driver from the CD. Now if its VISTA good luck you will have to see if the camera maker has written a certified driver.
