hey all, im very very green when it comes to macro photography but i would like to get into it. know with that said i need a lens that can capture good macros but i dont want to sell the house for it. i would like to stay in the 150 to 250 cdn dollar range. my camera currently is a canon 300d, can someone point out a great (if it exsists for this price) macro lens for this rig and price range..>?

    Re: macro lens help...

You might try a used Sigma 105 2.8 macro lens. You should be able to get one for about $300 or perhaps less. I usually use only Nikkor lenses, but bought the Sigma to get some additional working distance for macro work. Optically, this lens really, really rocks. It's every bit the equal of my 60mm 2.8 micro Nikkor, maybe even better.
