    Lighting Systems Buy Decision

Hi and thanks for taking the time to try and help me decide.

I am looking to buy a portable lighting system to try and expand my photography possibilities. I have used from a friend in the past the Elinchrom Quadra Ranger set, which I found very useful, versatile, lightweight and easy to manage. http://www.digitalcamerawarehouse.com.au/prod1862.htm

However I was recently introduced to Bowens Gemini R set 500Ws. http://www.digidirect.com.au/accesso...00r_2_head_kit
Though a bit more bulky than Elinchrom it has the added advantage of being wireless controlled so no need for leads and it can also use direct power source besides battery, hence useful in a studio. This is the one I am thinking of buying.

To complicate matters I have also come across Alienbees - http://www.alienbees.com/ and Broncolor - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc..._Operated.html which a quite a bit more price though higher Wattage.

    What to do, I'll spend US$ 2,000 - $3,000 (Australian $) equivalent.

Does anyone have any advice for me. I'm using the system for when I travel so outdoor and also in my little home studio. As for speed I think for my level of photography 500W should do the trick.

    Thanks for your input, Shootme

These have gotten excellent reviews at a reasonable price.
