Lighting Equipment Help

Hello all,

I am starting to kick up my photography up a notch so I want to purchace some lighting equipment. I want to do portrait photography a lot more, and I am in the market for some beginner lighting equipment. If anyone has any advice on how to start off lighting my pictures and what equipment to get I would appreciate the help.

Ebay and used photo stores. Just make sure that contacts in the lamp sockets are not pitted, dark, black marks, they must look smooth. Flash units make sure they have a store warrantty.
