    Lens Question

I currently have a 35mm SLR Camera.....a Nikon N6006. I am looking to upgrade to a digital SLR. I have a Nikon 35-80mm lens as well as a Quantaray 70-300mm lens that I would like to use on a new digital camera. Is there a camera out there that is compatible with these lenses? Can I use them with any Nikon?? I don't mind if it is an older model. Any help that can be given would be greaty appreciated.

    Re: Lens Question

You can buy adaptors that will fit your lens and then fit the lens to the camera, but your camera will have to be used in manual and no AF. Also your focal length will change. I am not sure how much. I am thinking 1.6. So a 50mm will be more like 75mm. But as I say I am unsure of that. Here is an example of the ring though.

    Re: Lens Question

Almost all Nikon SLR lens mounts are the same so your lenses should work in a Nikon DSLR but I don't know how well the A/F will work if at all with those lenses.

    Re: Lens Question

If the lens is an AF and has the electric F stop connections the lenses will function on all the DSLR Nikons in my house my D70 and daughters D80. I've put my older Nikon lenses on my D70, I just have to use a light meter and put it in manual mode.

    Re: Lens Question

As long as they're autofocus lenses, they'll work with most Nikon (and Fuji which are Nikon mount) DSLR's. By "work", I mean that you'll have metering and autofocus. Some Nikon DSLR's work with manual focus lenses and some like the D40 and possibly D50 need AF-S lenses to have autofocus. You won't need any adapters as long as they're Nikon mount, and the sensor crop factor is 1.5x.
