    I've lost my software

I've committed the unpardonable crime of accidentally deleting from my Mac the camera software for my digital rebel and now I can't find the original disk. Anybody know where I can dowload these? I check the Canon site but I only found updates. Thanks.

Are you sure they're "just" updates? Maybe they just imply that but are actually full blown installs? Have you tried downloading and installing them anyway?

    Two ideas...

Trevor may be right. If not, I'd go through Canon Tech Support. They may be willing to send you a replacement CD. You'll probably need to supply proof of purchase (such as a camera serial number).

The other place you should try would be a camera store. My guess is that if they have open models of these cameras for display, they're likely to have the software discs lying around in a drawer somewhere. You might be able to borrow one...

Is there something speacial that you use the software for? If you have a decent editing program, I find the software that came with my camera pretty useless, compaired to PS. I do use one of the programs to download my images, because it's so simple. I just plug my memory card in, hit enter twice and the PC does the rest. Even that could be done in PS or a number of other ways. Of course if the editing software you lost, is the only editing software you have, then I would contact Canon's support people.

    Re: I've lost my software

Hey folks, thanks for answering. I went back to the Canon site and sure enough it's like you said. While they say "update" they actually install the full programs. I was in need of ImageBrowser and Canon File Uitlity in particular. Got them back now, with an upgraded version to boot.

Now I just need to get my Mac Disk Utility back. Yeah, can't find that disk either!! I've found every other disk I had before I moved except my backup software for my Mac computer. It's around here somewhere....but where??? Now you can see why I hate moving.
