    Infrared Photography

I'm looking to take some infrared photographs and I was wondering if anyone has worked with them before? My graphics teacher last year made a home made on for one if his students but the camera broke shortly after, could anyone tell me how I would be able to take some infrared shots? I have an 18-55mm nikkor lense. Are there any filters that would work or do you have to do it the hard way(which I dont realy know how to do) thanks

I have been looking at doing some of this myself. If you have a digital camera I think you can use a Hoya R72 filter and then invert the reds and blues in channel mixer, I think. If you try it I have some conversion settings you might try. But if you are going to shot film take a look at this site.

And try this site if you go Digital

It doesn't have to be a Hoya. I think this is just the most popular choice. What size lens do you have?

Look on the , lens end, of the camera. It should read 52mm, 55mm or something close. This is the filter size you will need...
