    Infared

I'm currently working on a infared laser (200mW) and I have nothing to view if it's even on or collimated right into a dot. Does the Nikon D50 have a infared filter, or is there a mode where I can take infared pictures? 808nm+

All digital cameras have an IR filter over the sensor. You can buy special purpose cameras with no IR filter or have a tech remove it for you. Be aware that, once removed, you will have to use an external IR filter to take "normal" photographs.

Yes it has an plat glass IR filter over the senser. I would have a technician remove the IR filter from a cheap video camera, as the D50 does not have a active LCD or a video out.
