    Was I ripped off?

I bought my NikonD50 yesterday for 749 out the door. Included was:
    NikonD50(body)/cables/software/charger/battery/etc.
    Sigma 28-70mm F2.8-4 DG Lens
    UV filter
    Carrying Case
    512MB SD Memory Card
oh and a basic cheap as well.
    ... I think that's all.
Was that a smart buy or not? I hope it was. Any feedback is much appreciated. I'm only worried because the salesman was so quick to sell it to me and I really hope I wasn't ripped off with anything.

    Assuming you're in the US...

B&H in New York is a favorite dealer among a lot of us. Their prices are always good (not always the cheapest) and they have always been fair and honest to deal with. They have the D50 body for about $450 and that lens for about $330 so price-wise you did fine. My only concern would be about the warranty - if you bought a "grey market" camera, the warranty isn't so good. Grey market means that the store directly imports it from a foreign country, rather than thru Nikon's official US channels.
