I broke my flash! :( cost to fix?

While being a little careless today, I accidently dropped my Nikon SB-600 flash from the top of the TV to the nice hardwood floor at my parents house. I know the bulb broke on impact, but everything else still works perfectly. Anyone know how much it would cost to replace the bulb in a Nikon flash? Thanks!

Re: I broke my flash! :( cost to fix?

Wow, that really sucks...I broke two flashes this past racing season. One was my Metz 45 CL-1, which I just ended up selling on eBay for $20 because I couldn't find anyone around here that could work on them, and I didn't want to pay to send it off, and then pay who knows how much to fix it, especially since it wasn't the easiest flash to use with my D70 anyhow.

The other flash was my new Sigma EF-500 DG ST...I fell while crossing a very dark infield and when I fell, the flash snapped off at the foot. I'm not sure if it possible to just replace the foot, and how much that would cost, or if I would be just as far ahead to go ahead and buy another one.

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions for either jorgemonkey or me?

The feet are replaceable. Don't know the cost though.

    Hundred Bucks?

    Jorge-
My guess is it will cost you $100. It seems like every kind of camera repair starts at $100. If you've had your flash for a while, chalk it up to the long-term cost of owning expensive stuff. And do yourself a favor and take it to Horizon Electronics in Union City. They're an authorized Canon and Nikon rapair facility and they'll treat you well. I take all camera repair and cleaning jobs to them. Their contact info is in the Links section here. Tell them you found out about them on PhotographyREVIEW.com.

Wow, not good!I went through 3 years of sports, including racing before a set of batteries finally killed my flash (bad battery shorted the thing out). I had car parts hit it, I dropped it in water, mud and on cement and fell while avoiding a midget that hit the fence right where I was standing......I was lucky to survive that one, but through it all that darn flash survived everything except Duracel!

You can replace the hotshoe but I have no clue as to cost. I know the Indianapolis Star does this all the time so it must be cost effective over buying a new flash. Myself I think I'd buy a used flash though. I bought a Sunpak 433D for Canon hotshoe for $55 and it works great, and a whole lot cheaper than a new one.
