    How does one read an MTF chart?
    I've been looking at the MTF charts for the 300 f4 IS against the 400 f5,6 trying to decide between the two, but I have no clue how to read those charts. Can someone shed some light on this? :confused:

    OK, now I know how to read MTF charts. :o
    PJ, are MTF explanations somewhere on this site? If not , might be good to put 'em somewhere.

    A google search showed that one of my favorite sites (The Luminous Landscape) has an article about interpreting MTF Charts.

    I've never gotten that technical about lenses so I can't verify its accuracy.
    There's a LOT of other good info on that site.
