How do I turn on AI Servo?

I have the original digital rebel and I'm having a time figuring out how to turn on AI Servo. I know it has it... it's listed as a Focus Mode in the manual... but I can't find anywhere how to actually set the camera to AI Servo.

If anyone knows, I'd LOVE to hear from you...

    and I really appreciate it!

the original drebel does not have Al Servo. there is an inhibitor that prevents it from working. Even with the wasia hack, you can't use it. with the hack you can focus with it, but you can't actually take a shot.

Wow, really... the manual lists it as a focus mode! I'm shocked! Although, that would explain how I can't for the life of me get it to work!

It has AI servo, you just can't tell the camera when to use it. It switches to it in the Sports mode, and if it thinks it needs to in the creative modes.

yeah, i should have clarified that. It does have Al servo, but you can't control it. you can't switch it on or off. if you're shooting in the sports mode, it will turn on. My bad. Now I remember.

The 300D does have AI Servo, but it's only used automatically in the Sports mode. In the Programmed modes (other than Fully Automatic) it uses One-Shot AF. In the Creative modes and the Fully Automatic mode it uses AI Focus, which switches between one-shot and AI servo based on whether or not there is movement. Check the manual starting on page 122 and check here for a tip on how to trick it into AI servo. Also google 300D + AI Servo and you should find some other tips.

    Good Luck!

also another trick you can do, but it only works for a short while and may cause damage to lenses. if your focus ring spins when the lens is focusing, depress the shutter button halfway so your lens locks focus, then twist it a tiny bit one direction, then twist back to its original position. all of a sudden poof, your camera will go into AI Servo. There is also another trick for using the remote plug or something. Google "300d servo trick" and you should find it.
